Join COMTO on September 10-12, 2019 for a week of legislative advocacy designed to bring attention to transportation issues affecting minority communities – from careers and contracting to accessibility and inclusion. "A View from the Hill" is a series of legislative activities for COMTO members and includes networking, discussions regarding current issues facing the transportation industry, and potential solutions to these issues. Tuesday, September 10, 2019 COMTO National will Exhibit at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) Trade Show Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20004 The CHCI 2019 Leadership Conference will bring together key partners and thought leaders from a wide range of sectors and industries to examine critical issues affecting the Latino community and our nation. Wednesday, September 11, 2019 A View from the Hill - Legislative Panel 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. U.S. Capitol Visitor Center First Street NE, SVC 201-00, Washington, DC 20515 The program begins with a legislative panel discussion of transportation industry leaders who will provide insight into how lawmakers are handling issues surrounding infrastructure and transportation. ***Due to security at the Capitol, all attendees must register by Wednesday, September 4, 2019. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.
Congressional Meetings Meet with your elected officials to share COMTO's message, legislative agenda, and views on the rehabilitation and revitalization of America’s transportation infrastructure. ***COMTO members who wish to schedule Congressional meetings, must RSVP here and complete the following form by Friday, August 30, 2019.
Thursday, September 12, 2019 COMTO-CBCF Transportation Braintrust New time: 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Room 147B 801 Mount Vernon Place, NW, Washington, DC 20001 The COMTO-Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) Transportation Braintrust brings together the best minds and brightest thinkers in the field to discuss issues of particular relevance to people of color in transportation. COMTO's annual View from the Hill (VFH) is only weeks away and we look forward to seeing you all in Washington, DC on September 11, 2019.
This year, in anticipation of our annual VFH event, we are implementing a LEGISLATIVE CALL TO ACTION for all COMTO members. Attached are two template letters that we would like you to share with your elected Congressional Representatives and U.S. Senators:
