APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Letter of Motivation - A letter that introduces yourself and describes your goals and transportation-related career aspirations. Letters must be typed, double-spaced, and no more than 2 pages. Letters of Motivation that do not list the applicant's name in the header or footer will not be accepted.

Statement of Financial Need - Start with a brief introduction. Explain how you are paying for college now. Explain difficulties you are having in meeting your needs. Talk about how you would benefit from the scholarship. Close in a brief and respectful tone.

Resume - A 1-page resume that outlines your work and volunteer experience, leadership skills, education, awards, and any transportation-related work or academic experience. 

Transcript - A copy of your most recent academic transcript (university) or report card (high school). An unofficial transcript/report card will be accepted; however, accepted awardees will be required to submit their most recent official transcript/report card prior to award distribution.

Letter of Recommendation - Two written letters of recommendation from your department chair, a professor in your academic major, a supervisor from an organization where you have volunteered, a member of your COMTO Chapter, or your employer, are required. Letters of Recommendation must have been written within the last 6 months and must be dated and signed. 

Headshot - A high resolution headshot of yourself in professional attire. Do not include a full-body or group image. If applicant is selected, this image may be used in COMTO scholarship award announcements.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

• Applications must be submitted online by the application closing date. Emailed applications will not be accepted.
• All fields and attachments are required. Incomplete applications will not be considered. 
• Letters of Motivation that do not list the applicant's name in the header or footer will not be accepted. 
• Letters of Recommendations must have been written within the last 6 months and must be dated and signed. 
• Applicants must be enrolling at an accredited college, university, or vocational/technical institution for the 2025 fall academic term.
